Summer Fun!
There are lots of great activities going on this summer. Each boy that participates in at least one activity in June, July and August will earn the Summertime Award.

2015 Family Camping Trip !!!
Arrive Friday night at D-A Scout Ranch in Metamora and set up your tent or roll our your sleeping bag in a squeaky bunk bed in the cabin. Bring the whole family if you like, or bring your son(s). We're staying at the Johnstone Campsite again, which is a great campsite right on a lake (lots of fishing and other planned events). Cost and Payment: The cost will be consistent with last year at $50 per family. This cost will cover your food, your activities, and your camping. Payment should be submitted to your Den leader or to Ryan Talbott. Checks should be made out to Cub Scout Pack 1014. Registration: You'll receive a Signup Genius email invitation soon. Register by Saturday, May 9th. Logistics and Misc: The camp is located at 880 E. Sutton Road; Metamora, Michigan 48455. Check-in to camp will be after 5:30 pm on Friday the 15th, and we will be out Sunday morning the 17th after clean-up is completed. Food: Snack will be provided Friday night; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks on Saturday; and continental Breakfast on Sunday To begin your preparations, you will want to start planning to bring the following items: - Your family tent and a tarp to place it on. There are bunk beds available in the camp site’s cabin if you choose not to use a tent this weekend. - Sleeping Bag, sleeping mat, pillow, extra blanket, towel and wash cloth; clothes according to weather including warm-ups for bed and an extra pair of pants and socks and shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting muddy. Always bring something warm to wear (dress in layers) and a rain jacket or poncho. Also, bring your personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, shampoo, and soap), flashlight, water bottle, insect repellent, and sunscreen. You may want to bring other items including: First aid kit for the group, a lantern, a compass, fishing gear (fishing pole, hooks, etc), and sports items (e.g. footballs, soccer balls, etc.) We will plan on a fire each night. Pinewood Derby Workshop
The Pinewood Derby is Saturday, Feb 28th, it'll be here before you know it. For those of you that'd like some help building your derby car, come join us on Sunday, Feb 8th for the Pinewood Derby Workshop. When: Sunday, Feb 8th from 12 noon to 2pm Where: Fox Hills Community Club House Expert builders and tools will be on hand to help you shape and build a super race car. We'll even have a test track to help tune your car. There will be extra kits available for purchase (parents, siblings).
Note that kids from the Fox Hills community are invited as well so this might be a great outreach event. Marc LeDuc and Dan Champoux will be heading this up. We'll be looking for other parents to help out and especially to help clean up at 2pm. |
Klondike - Saturday, Jan 31st
The Klondike is a half-day of outdoor winter fun and competition. All Scouts will work in dens and rotate through five activities and a hot dog lunch. Each Scout will also receive a patch. The goal of the Klondike is to have fun, with a little competition mixed in. Pack 1014 covers the cost and provides competition materials. 1st Pack Meeting of the School Year
Come join us Wednesday, Sept 17th at 6:30 pm at Eastover for our first Pack Meeting of the school year.
The boys will build their very own marshmallow shooter, and have FUN shooting marshmallows. Boys will also receive awards earned over the summer. |
